What is a Doula?
A "doula" is a person who provides continuous support to women
and their families during labor and delivery. A doula understands
that birth is normal and provides physical, emotional and
informational support to the mother and her family. The services a
doula provides can offer you the following benefits.
The presence of a doula will compliment the father's role and help
to strengthen the bond between mother and father. A doula can
help decrease the normal anxiety the father might feel and give him
support and encouragement.
